In the following picture the protection of a Trachycarpus Wagnerianus in the first winter after planting out can be seen:

The lowest air temperature measured in this first winter (2009/2010) was about -16 °C. And the palm survived it without any harm. Meanwhile it's a big plant with a height of about 3.5 m. Here some pictures of this palm can be seen.
